Exclamation Help Problems with 97 GSXR 600!

Ok well here it goes.. I was riding home the othernight and my bike started to act funny so i pulled over to see what it was.. I discovered that there was a loud ticking noise that seemed to be comming from the right side of the engine. The noise went tick tick tick and would get faster when I would rev the bike. Since I was kinda far I decided since it ran I would try to ride it home. So I did and it made it but the noise got worse and it seemed like there was something loose in the engine cause you could hear/feel something moving around.. So i went to start my bike this morning al that happened is that it made that loud ticking noise. I have talked to a few people and they all say its probably the timing I just wanna see if there is anything else that could be wrong with it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.

ticking is usually a sign of valves or the rods going bad and that is usually caused by low oil pressure or just wear and tear. Either way I wouldn't ride it anymore until it was checked by a mechanic.

+1, and that includes getting it to the mechanic, if possible.

if it is cause of low oil pressure would putting more oil in it stop the ticking?
