Default Starter Relay

OK, SO my starter relay has gone ka-put...I have a new one on order, but my question is, what would make it go bad? I have no freaking idea...I do have 15k miles on my bike...is it just the number of times using it or what?? thanks

Nick

With electrical parts, there is just no telling. I have seen relays last for 20 years, and the exact same model relay die after 1 year. Use paterns, weather, heat, and being garaged all can effect how long the parts on your bike last, but I really think there are little electrical demons that sneak up at night and tamper with the various electrical parts just to be mean.
