Default Chain ?

Okay if I remember correctly the owners manual says not to use a chain wax for the marauder. But a heavy weight oil. just wondering what some of you other folks use.

Really? Here's what they say about chain lube in my SV manual:

Quote:
This drive chain has special 'O' rings that permanently seal grease inside. Clean and oil the chain periodically as follows:
1. Clean the chain with kerosene. If the chain tends to rust, the interval must be shortened. Kerosene is a petroleum product and will provide some lubrication as well as cleaning action
2. After thoroughly washing the chain and allowing to dry, oil the link with SUZUKI chain lube or an equivalent.

hmmmm. I'm going to look again when I get home, but I'm pretty sure they said not to use that on there. I'm so confused.

I clean my chain with kerosene and lube it with PJ1 Blue Label. Seems to work fine and not much flings off.

hey Louis. I looked at my manual last night and it says what yours says. The shop manual however cautions against products commercially sold as chain lubricants and recomends a heavy weight oil. Hmmm........Wonder why would zuki put out publications that that seem to oppose each other?

That's a very good question Ray. To which I do not have an answer... at least for now. Let me check my tech manual too...
