Default Scrape!

Got your attention, right? I finally laid the bike low enough into a corner to scrape a footpeg on the street ... kinda freaks you out at first.

Foot massage is good. Scraping pegs is a good way to change the color of your underwear. I scraped each side once and haven't done it since.

Hehe ... I did it just around the corner from home and my right foot jerked like it was on fire! Just wasn't expecting it since I never did that on my Ninja. I laughed almost instantly since I knew I went a little lower in that corner than usual.

BTW - I see I've left Top Gear and am now officially Uncle Bob's Love Child!

You should be in a parking lot trying to do that so you know how far over you are able to take the bike. You should be able to hit the stops on the bar from left to right and right to left and dragging your foot rest as well.

I scraped the 1st day after I lowered the rear pulling into a super market. Freaked me out then I was like sigh I scratched my new pegs. Wasn't too bad, isn't really visable. Now I just turn a little sooner. The bike maunuvers differently now that the rear is 3" lower.

I love to lean so I've scrapped my foot pegs a number of times. The pegs have a special replaceable bolt at the bottom that does nothing but protect the rest of your peg from scrapping. It's good to get over that startled feeling when you scrape your pegs so you don't loose your cool in a situation where you need every bit of lean possible. When I hear mine scrape it's instant lean my body weight to the inside of the turn and don't try to turn any tighter.

ive tried and cant get low enough to do it. i would like to do it a couple times when i am ready for it so that when it happens by accident i will not be so surprised. this bik has pretty high pegs. my friend drags his VTX pegs every once in a while.

rode with mocephus back when we had just got the bokes andhe dragged them a few times just on our 200 mile trip.

im just too chicken to get that low i guess.

I'm no daredevil but think its important to know what your riding parameters are.... in case of (god forbid) an emergency.

Doug if you want to try it out come up here for a couple of days. I have a place right down the road from my house that gets the scrapes EVERY time. It is where I practiced to ride the dragon!!!!! Maybe we can find a couple of places on Labor Day Weekend!!!!

You probably scraped because your bike is sagging under the weight of all the accessories.

And by the way, it's "Sickness runs rampant."

I'm starting to get accustomed to the pegs scraping, learned how to ride on a sport bike, I could lean it waaaaaay over and throttle thru the turn, have to be careful on the cruiser but getting easier to deal with.

Had my son on the back the other day and laid it in a turn and SCRAPE!, he asked what was that?, I said dont worry about it, that was smurfin great wasn't it.
