Default Running Lights

After a few failed attempts I finally figured out a way to mount some running lights on my M50. I think it turned out OK; it's not a professional job, but will do for me. I just need to wire them in this weekend and see how much they help. I may see about going up to 50W from 35W, but if I do I might consider wiring them to a switch rather than a constant "on". Might be a little hard on oncoming traffic, and the police might frown on it too.....

not bad...i think i would have replaced the orange ones totally with the new ones for a cleaner look, then wire them into the turn signals.

Like the clean look, running lights greatly increase the visibility of a bike even in daytime. Don't think there is any legal problem with them in most places as long as they're aimed well for nightime driving.

As for the flashers, you could always find some smaller replacements or go with some clear lenses to clean up the look.

Thumbs up

How did you attach them. A blow up of the instal would be nice for us blind
bikers. Looks like a way to save bucks, so we can spend on Bling.
Thanks

Might have to look into some clear lenses for those turn signals. I used Kuryakyn large Silver Bullets for lights, and used 2-1/8" exhaust brackets and ½" turn signal spacers from J&B Cycles to mount them. The brackets came chrome, but since I blacked out the upper part of the forks I painted them flat black and cleared them to somewhat match the turn signal setup. I'd like to get some of the visored bezels for the lights too; that would help them match the headlight. I got the lights new off of e-bay and the guy had visors with them, they are just for mounting the lights straight up and not to the side. I just want to avoid all the night creatures as best I can. It doesn't look perfect, but does the job and still looks pretty decent.

I put my running lights just in front of the foot pegs. They are a thin oval shaped housing with a 55 watt bulb and man do they look gooooooood to.
