Default Trouble?

Hey guys,

I need some help. Friday..rode the bike (2005 M50) to work and back with no problems. Saturday morning, was ready to go to work and the bike did not work. When I turn the bike to the on position, nothing happens. No lights, no check lights, no led readout. I checked what I could this morning. I am thinking, somehow the battery has a loose cable or has died. After work, I check the cables attached to the battery and they were tight. I hooked up a charging unit and it did show it was low. I left it hooked up until it was charged. I then tried to start the bike again and nothing!

Any ideas about what is going on?
Miles on the bike is around 550.

Thanks

When you say nothing happens when you turn the key, you mean no lights come on and no EFI sound? Check your fuses first. Then I would remove and clean the battery terminals just in case. By the way, are you sure bike is in neutral, kickstand is up, clutch is in, and kill switch is in the "on" position?

I mean nothing happens. I already checked the battery. I haven't checked the fuses yet. I will do that tonight. I have tried the bike in neutral and in gear. I have tried with kickstand up and down. I have tried clutch in and out. I have tried the kill switch on and off. In the past no matter what position things were in, If I put the key in and turned it to on at least the lights came on and the "dash read check." Now nothing at all.

Thanks. Any suggestions are helpful, in case I missed something.

check the relays are in place (i dont know the bike but when i lost my relay for the side stand it prevented everything) the other thing is the battery might be dead and not holding a charge full stop so wont work even when attempted to charge it. but fuses is a strong possibility, it has to be something small like that i would guess

I figured out what was wrong. It was the fuse, it was blown. I switched it with the spare and everything worked fine. Now I am wondering what could have blown the fuse.
Thanks for the feedback and tips.

Exclamation Trouble? Urgent please check for this problem!

Hi, I also had the same problem and it turned out that the fuse under the seat had blown. I replaced it and also wanted to know what could have caused this. About two weeks later the same thing happened. I changed the fuse and when I tried to use the clutch it wouldn't move! I followed the clutch cable to the neck of the bike and there was the problem. There's an electrical part that has two wires that have been sparking and was melting my clutch cable. This is very dangerous especially if you are refueling. All M50 riders please check this area.

It turned out that my ignition switch kept grounding out and blowing the fuses. The switch was replaced and all is well.
