Freaks ... all of you! You know who you are, and you made me do it! Yes, I removed the tank badges ... and I like it.

welcome to the "naked" riders club i love my nubian princess naked!

so true about the looks though. i think people now think it is some kind of small custom bike....especially with my little teardrop chopper-esque mirrors. ive been very close to pulling the trigger (or mouse button in this case) on the pipes/filter/commander combo, but havent. i have a feeling when the 2nd life insurance check from my father shows up i will be firing away. then a ride down to pembroke pines for install assistance haha

Originally, I had thought of blacking out the entire bike similar to that of the Road Warrior Midnight. But I came to terms that chrome and black look really awesome together so long as it's not overdone. Besides, it's NOT a Road Warrior, so why should I try to look like one. I was actually thinking of painting some of the engine covers matte black instead of the gloss. That would really look good with the chrome accents. ... hmmmmmmm.

I have been holding off pulling my badges. I will do tomorrow, if the sun comes back.
Bike looks good. We have had July's total rainfall already.
So you are not the only one not getting seat time in.

i was told to use a hair dryer to heat up the stickers and badges a little to soften the clue before i started to remove them did any of you guys do that first.

didnt need to use the hair dryer - did about a 2 hour ride one weekend morning.. and then let it "cool" down in 110 degree weather in the driveway after that, but yes Ive heard a hair dryer (NOT a paint stripper) is a good technique. The blue tank really sparkles after that. The little M50 badges peeled off easy, the foamglue under the tank badges was a @#!@#$

I didn't heat mine either, but temp was prolly 100degF when I removed mine. just took a thin wire between two sticks and slid it through, badges peeled right off. Gotta have some patience removing the rest of the glue though, yes, was a %#*&@*(.

yeah fishing line works great...hair dryer can help if it is tough.

i agree with zuki that too much black wouldnt be good, i like the chrome exhaust. the left side of the bike has a little too much black IMO.

flat black? trying to look like Exile cycles? haha...might be interesting though for sure.

is the elft side the motorcycle equivelant to Starbord? or is that port? arrrrgh! Lean more ELFT! (had to do it) But at last we had a mod before Zuki did. What a bunch of happy lemmings we are, all the way to the parts line. Im just plotting and scheming on my first mods - furniture or parts.

Figures the Floridians know nautical terms - how long before you become an island down there? I heard the new official florida song is "row row row your boat" Not always good to make light of such potential tragedy but must find the "ray of sunlight" in there somewhere. My office here feels it everytime you get it - corporate and ALL of our servers are in Orlando. Its always interesting to have clients call Phoenix and go "what do you mean you cant look that up because of a HURRICANE"

I removed my badges also. The foam left stuck on the tank was a pain but a little brake cleaner sprayed on a rag really helped and did NO harm to the paint whatsoever. I used to be a professional diesel mechanic (Kenworth) and we commonly used brake cleaner on a rag to remove greasy hand prints, gasket sealer, etc. from the paint. It also works great to remove grease stains from cloth seats.....if you don't mind the smell for a few days.
