Default M50 Oil Level

How do you check your oil level? I have to get my son to look at it while I sit on the bike. Maybe if I put a mirror on my shoe I could check it myself. This is the only complaint I have with the bike.

Any small hand held mirror will work while sitting on the bike....just lean down and hold it there to see the sight glass...no need to spend any money on anything but BIKE ACCESSORIES!!

3.5 quarts at oil change (w/ new filter!) will take you exactly to the top line. There is no reason to put less.

Fill to the top line, add when it gets below the bottom line.

Get your self a mirror bud....it's worth it's weight in gold if you drop something while working around the engine compartment of your car to.

A mirror with a telescoping handle, about $1.50 at your nearest auto accessories store. I keep mine in my fork bag.

Really I just kneel down and lift the bike off the stand until the rear wheel is parallel to a cardboard box or something else square and tall that I set next to it. I guess it's not the safest approach, it's just that I love living on the edge...

Yeah, I do the same thing as Billy...I crouch next to it & pull her towards me, till she's up straight.

Then I ease her back onto the side stand. So far, no close calls.

I do this the same way and I only weight 145 pounds. Good thing that kick stand is there to protect me .

I just sit on it, make sure its level-ish and bend down to look. Only a problem if it's dark out, or poorly lit. It should be in the middle which has been my experience.
