I am getting old.

That and the fact that my legs don't work too well. If I crouch down, I can't get up.

On a waiting list for 2 artificial knees - maybe they will work better than the ones I broke!

Thumbs down

Yeah - but it is good for life threatening stuff - but not for elective stuff.
I am still able to function as a person, so the immediacy is not there.

I am still ambulatory according to my surgeon, so start off way down the list.
because I still able to hold down a job, I go further down the list.
Because I am in a higher tax bracket - I go further down the list.
Because I have private health insurance (which doesn't cover orthopedics), I go further down the list

If I choose to pay for it as a private patient - I can have it done almost immediately - at a cost of around $16000 per leg.

I have had 6 kids - so never saved a lot!

Will just keep taking the painkillers until I cant walk - then ride my bike to the hospital.

I glued a magnet to a small mirrow. The magnet holds the mirrow in place then I just hold the bike upright and look down. Works great!
