Hi fellow M50 owners. I've been reading these forums since I got my M50 (Blue) 2 months ago. I just got around to joining up today. Only put 500 miles on so far in 2 months, weather in May was terrible. I plan on taking in for 600 service in next week or so. LOVE the bike so far and only real complaint is the seat. 15 miles out and my butt is aching! Anyhow, just wanted to say Hi to all!

Welcome Conrad and glad you are enjoying the bike. Seems these Boulevards are nice machines. I haven't had any compaint about the seat on my C50 but it seems like that would be a fairly easy thing to take care of with aftermarket stuff. I am sure some folks in the group here can recommend a fix. Good to have you along for the ride.

Welcome!

When you start to ride more frequently, your posterior will miraculously become more resilient.

I've been riding 26 years on 6 different bikes and I never had an issue with the stock seat or seat comfort. From what I've read, no one is currently making an aftermarket seat and the Suzuki gel seat is only slightly better. It's not so much the seat as the 2 mounting bolts directly beneath the rear of the rider's seat.

Welcome Conrad! I got my M50 in March and am loving it. I guess I'm lucky in that the seat hasn't bothered me so far. Guess it must be my own built in padding...

Welcome Conrad.I picked up mine on thursday...220 miles so far and I, too, have no issue with the seat....actually I find it way more comfortable than all the other road bikes I've owned in the past, yesterday I was on the bike for about 100 miles...three + hours....it must be that some of us have beefier glut's...(butt muscles) or something...I'm 5'11" and 190 and I love the way this bike feels, and I have no protrusions poking through the seat....ergonomically I think they did a great job...but obviously they can't design it for everyones butt...I was all worried after reading all the complaints, but I have been presently surprised, personally...since picking up my bike. My problem is getting off the seat...can't stop riding with that big sh*t eating grin....

Yes, I did get it from Adam's. I had a deposit on a blue one with them for over a month and they couldn't get one. I had also been to RER and New Haven Powersports and no one had a blue one. Finally RER called and they had just gotten a blue in. I called Adam's and mentioned cancelling my deposit and later that day,Adams had a blue M50, the same one RER had! Seems they worked out a deal/trade. Actually, New Haven Powersports just called this past Friday and had gotten their first blue M50. Too Late!...LOL I'm in Oxford. How about you?

LOL........Thats totally cool!...I saw your bike and Jim told me they got it for you from RER! I had seen it at RER too...that was the first time I had seen one...Your's ( and this forum) is the reason I ordered one too..(black though)....I think I owe you a thanks!...I'm in Middlebury, near the airport...surprised I haven't seen you on the road...only seen one other M50...it was black too...(other than yours in the showroom that is!). I waited over two weeks for mine and when I picked it up they were builing another Blue one for the showroom. Might be fun to meet if you want...

BeatKat....you must be pretty close to me, I'm about 1 mile from the airport on the Oxford side, actually on the same street. Anyhow, I read one of your posts about previuous bikes you've owned and I too have owned a Yamaha special 400, bought new in 79 and 2 84 Nighthawk "S"' 1 bought new and one used. Also owned a couple Suzuki's, 81 GS650L(new) and a 82 GS 850G(new). Have you had the 600 mile service yet? If so, how much$ Jim told me around $140. I still only have 500 miles as I also have a boat that I spend a lot of time in, Lake Zoar mostly.

We must be real close....I'm off Christian St......I have about 350 miles so far, just got back from Maine for 4 days....so haven't been riding much, but that changes tommorrow! Jim told me to call early for the 600 m. service as they are scheduling in advance...pretty busy in the svce. dept I guess....losing one of their tech's he said.....and he said the same thing about $140....just bought the sissy bar and mounts....any mod's yet on yours?

take personal conversation to pm's! hahahaha......

welcome conrad and beatkat! cool that you guys live close and can get together to ride maybe.

my black m is going in for its 4000 mile either this week or next (whenever i get aroun to it). ive done a couple 400 mile days and not had a problem with the seat. and my 6-1 145 pound body doesnt have any extra padding of its own. i guess it is just the way you sit on it. there is that spot on the back at the bracket you can feel through, but i sit just in front of that.

welcome again!
