| Love everything about the bike except the seat! None of the top seat makers(mustang, corbin, saddleman) are making seats for the m50 and want be anytime in the near future. I've noticed that some of the accessories made for the c50 work on the m50 or vice-versa--mounting hardware for sissy bar, pipes etc. Does anyone know whether the seats made for the c50 or the 2004 marauder 800 will work on the 2005 m50. I've talked to Suzuki dealers and others and no one has been able to answer this question? thanks

| I'd like to know this too. It is quite possible that the manufacturers know; contacting them directly may be one solution. I know I found out about the exhausts being the same on the Volusia and C50 as they are for the M50 by contacting Cobra. Hey, let us know if you find out about the seats though ... anyone else want to jump in here??

| C50 Seats won't work, they are totally different. Don't know about earlier Marauder seats. Factory Gel seats still use the same seat pan. I did the posted seat mod by dragula. A little more bearable but still not good enough.

| In Training ![]() | Well I talked to Mustang today, and they say that seat will not fit the M50 contrary to info on the cruiser customizing site.....they have no plans to produce a seat for the M50 so I pleaded with them and even asked if they could develop an adapter plate of some kind to adapt their Marauder seats to the M50.I dropped them a link to the Suzuki forums so they could read for themselves the seat complaints for the new M50...Please drop them an email and beg for them to produce a seat pan for the Marauder seats for the M50!...here's a link, click on contact at the top of the page and send them an email...http://www.mustangseats.com/suzcontst.htm Last edited by The BeatKat; 06-14-2005 at 02:42 PM. | In Training ![]() | I would also like to see for myself the difference in the two mounting schemes..can we have someone post a pic of the Marauder and the M50 seat mounts here?...maybe we can come up with an idea.....or maybe there's two friends or riding buddies out there that have the two bikes and can put their heads together, (and thier bikes), to see the real differences.......thanks Last edited by The BeatKat; 06-14-2005 at 02:47 PM. | In Training ![]() | Are they drastically different?....I really hope everyone will send an email to Mustang and/or Corbin to urge them to read the seat compplaints in the Forums, and to develop a seat pan for the M50.......

| I have no issue with my seat as far as comfort, but then my butt has been nearly one with race seats all my driving life! I do wish however for a nicer "finish" ... something in a fine leather with classier stitching to set it off.

| Forensic Bug Splatter Analyst. ![]() | Here is a good thread regarding the seat. Post 26 has pics showing what is causing your butt (the seat, not a butt) pain! http://www.suzuki-bikes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6490

| In Training ![]() | I've now had my M50 for 4 days...just a tick under 300 miles and I am really happy that the seat seems to be just right for me,....it's the best seat Iv'e had on any of my previous bikes...with all the negative reviews I was dreading it and was pleasantly surprised....I find the bike an ergonmic "10"...I'm 5'11'- 190lbs........my prob is getting OFF the seat long enough to see the wife and kids....LOVE THIS RIDE!

| It seems as if my seat is not long enough. In order for it to be comfortable, I have to sit as close to the gas tank as possible. That is not comfortable for my muts(sp)! I like the stretched out position but the seat does not readily accommodate that position. When I get some down time, I will address this problem!! But for now , I am going riding!! 1600 miles in 6 weeks!!!! Last edited by farmbone; 07-12-2005 at 02:26 PM. |

| That gell seat looks just like the stock, butt(sp!) if it is more conforming to shape of rider and softer is probably nice. I feel the back part thst is less padded every now and then, on longer rides when i shift position some. for me, moving my pegs forward a couple inches (which i want to do) would be a totally different sitting position and would probably take any discomfort away.

| Happiness with the seat is largely determined by your height, just like the Marauder seat. If you're a little shorter in the legs you sit with your tailbone more towards the center of the seat and you are more likely to be happy with it. If you're a little taller you probably slide all the way back with your tailbone on the back end of the seat where the padding is very thin. It seems like the M50's are selling like crazy so I'd imagine the aftermarket will follow. No custom part manufacturer is going to spin up production of replacement seats until there is clearly a market, its expensive to design, test, create molds for, etc a new seat. Me personally I'm too cheap to pay the big bucks for a custom seat and most of them don't seem to fit me too well anyway, they mainly seem to push you forward and I like the flatter seat where I can slide all the way back and stretch my legs a little. |
