Default Vance & Hines on the M50

I got the Vance & Hines Straightshots on today. They were listed for a C50 but fit perfect. It was the first set I put on a cruiser and it took less than 2 hours. It's raining here today so I was only able to go about 5 km but the fuel injection seems to work fine without the power commander, I have one on order but don't think I'll need it. Should know better after a couple good rides.

Hey do u have a sound clip by chance? I too am curious how loud they are...I'd like something louder/more aggressive that stock but not obnoxious to where I can't go riding at night because I'll wake up the entire neighborhood. Looks good though....is there an option for slash cut tips instead of straight tips?

Very cool!!!!!!!!!!! I like the stagered look. I've seen them where they are the same length and dont care for that much. But those look cool. Hey Quack I dont know what make you are looking for but I have cobras on mine. If you go to Cobras web site they have sound clips of whatever type of bike you have with whatever type of pipe of theirs you would like to try. The have Idle, Start up, and drive by. I have the Cobra Slash Out Slip Ons. They have removable baffels but that makes them insane. But with them in its Loud but they have a great sound. I'm working on resizing some pics.

I don't have a sound clip but will try to get one up. They are a lot louder than stock of course but I like the sound. You can get a varity of tips (6 or 8 different ones) but I wanted to see them on before I bought a set.

Islander, What was the part number on the staight shots and were did you order them. My dealer is a Vance and Hines dealer and with the maintenance warranty I got they will install any bolt on I buy there free. If they charge me some crazy price for buying them there then I'll buy them somewhere else and put them on myself. They look alot like big shots too.

They were 450 canadian plus taxes. The install was easy. V&H make a good product so the fit and finish were great, everything lined up perfectly.

Did you have to add anything else to the bike as far as an ignition module or similar...and if not does it run the same for you...H.P. increase??....they really look great...

I don't have a power commander yet but one is on order. The bike runs fine but smokes a little on start up and as far as power I don't see a difference. I had a PC on my last bike and thought it was running good before but what a difference it made. Hope to get the same results with this one. Will keep you posted.

There was a question about the fitment, did you have any issues? BTW, they look awesome.

Islander,

When we had our 600 mile first service done two weeks ago the Suzuki technician said that the factory rep had come in and showed them how to remap the FI themselves for V&H pipes.

The tech said that unlike Honda Suzuki makes the computer accessible for these changes so you don't have to get a power commander. You might want to check with your local Suzuki shop and see if their factory rep has also showed them how to remap the FI for aftermarket pipes.

Our shop only charges $65.00 for installing the pipes and that would include the computer work.

BTW - What did your V&H pipes cost? Where did you buy them?

What he said Any good place that tunes bikes should have whats called a Yosh box made by Yoshimura aka sister company of Suzuki. What this does is it re programs your stock ECU without getting a PC.Had it done on my 03 GSXR when we did the exhaust system.
