BlackM50-I do have high and low beam. I've had "cheap ones" for a while and have had no problem. As for price points i would suggest you don't make your purchase based on that. Many of the low priced lights are manufactured by the same companies that manufacture "high end" lights. They just don't have the need to maintain a brand name so they can sell a "generic" one for cheaper. And I don't see how blinding oncoming drivers is going to be an issue like some of the members here have mentioned. If that is a problem your head light assembly is too high IMO. Then again I drive ride in Miami where we have wide streets and very few roads are dark. |

| I was thinking that at first but I read somewhere a low beam is supposed illuminate 75' in front of the bike and high beam about 300. That's about what the bike is doing.

May have something to do with the geometry of the HID bulb itself.......and may not apply to ALL HID bulbs in ALL stock lights. | |

I understand the principle of beam patterns and the negative effects of retro fitting an HID bulb. Retro fitting the HID into the stock assembly will cause too much light to be above and below the cutoff line. My solution is to make the necessary adjustments to fix this as much as possible. Whether it is a retro fit or an OEM HID assembly the glare will disturb oncoming drivers no matter what. Remember the light sits higher on a motorcycle than a car, which may be the reason motorcycles do not come with HIDs from the factory (at least none that i know of). And who cares anyway, you're on an M50. You'll be going so fast that oncoming drivers won't even see you |
