Thanks I'll get some stabil and fill her up. 60's here today to. Our licence office is on strike so I can't get my licence or I would be out right now. Would probablly take a few sick days too. But can't so I just have to wait. It'll be a long winter!!! Hopefully the strike will be over soon.

CooleyM50 the screws I need are the two that are at the bottom of the speedo holding the bracket to the bike. The are hex head and have a phillips in the centre. About a 1/2 inch long. They are #12 on the Babbitts site under speedo.

Thanks

I want to order some parts from Babbitts but the shipping is outragous. Triple the cost of what I wanted. I'm 3 1/2 hr away but in a different country that's the problem.

Welcome....Sounds like you will have plenty of time to look over our forum here and find plenty of cool mods to do with your M50 whilst you wait for some sun

Hey, I'm new too! Congrats on the new bike!

I just bought mine this past saturday. It's a 2006 black M50 with 4001 miles on it. I live in New Orleans, so our winters are mild here, I'll be riding all year round... weather permitting!

Been on it all week... LOVE THIS THING! It's My first bike, got like 5 hours of riding experience so far

I'll be hanging around here a bit, looking forward to getting to know some of you, and learning about these machines!

Welcome The winter will give me time to do all the maintenance that I want to do and maybe a few mods. Not sure what yet but I will figure it out. Right now trying to fix all the little stuff and clean it all up. Must of sat outside for a bit. I think a center stand wil be my first project. Get it of the ground.

thanks man!

I'm kind of excited about all these options we have with these bikes. I'm into speed and drag racing, so naturally I'm already looking into the power commander and the aftermarket intake options and such... I wonder if I can get a built/stroked motor for this thing that will really make some steam. I need to be able to put my buddies 1200cc sportster to shame...

Anyway... lots of research to do

you dont have a chick bike... you already won!

and i hate to burst your bubble but its gunna be pretty hard to make your m do a sub 14 sec 1/4 mile. the only options you have for performance upgrades is pipes, power commander and intake. no one makes a new motor or pistons or heads or anything like they do for harleys. or you could get in touch with The Dark Knight and put a custom turbo on 'er. just search this forum, it shouldnt be hard to find that thread.

dang....

you're right... I did some searching but i'm coming up with no stroker kits or anything like that... didn't see any performance cams either... hmmm... It's hard to believe no one has torn apart an m50 motor and built a higher compression performance motor. I'm sure I'll dig something up.

I need to get my hands on a used m50 motor to play with...

first things first though: i need to figure out what all my bike has on it already. I know it has some kind of suzuki performance pipes on it. It's factory stuff, but not stock stuff... not sure exactly.

Cams can be custom ground, but you need to know what you want. I would guess the heads could be ported if someone had a flow bench. You would need another motor to play with, might scrap a few heads to get it right. Anything is possible if you got $$$$$.

yes, a custom cam would be the best route with a built motor. I'm just really curious what these little motors are capable of when stroked, ported, cammed and tuned

more cubes & compression would be the key!
