Default Question about my new mirrors & Installation

Ok guys so I got bored with the black plastic mirrors I had and purchased a set of OEM yamaha mirrors from a 2004 V star. I figured they are both metric so it should fit right?

I got them UPS today, and tried to install. The left mirror works perfectly without a hitch, screws right in nice and tight. The RIGHT mirror, however, seems to have a different threading than the left and wont screw into my M50s socket. I can unscrew the mirror from the stem, and the part that attaches to the mirror screws into the bike perfectly, but not the bottom. Can't flip em cuz the other side of the stem wont screw into the mirror itself.

What gives? Anyone know? It's definitely NOT a strip issue with threads on my bike, because the left mirror WILL screw into the right side hole just fine.

Are V Star mirrors special in some way that the mirrors arent identicle? anyway to fix this without buying new mirrors?
