Default Made the switch to a Nomad

I sold my 2007 M50 and bought a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad on Monday. Due to work, I haven't had time to ride the Nomad except the ride home (25 miles). My initial impression is that I will be quite happy, especially on longer rides. It's amazing how the big windshield on the Nomad keeps the air off you. The former owner had oversize lowers made for the bike and there is almost no are hitting me in the chest.

She is heavy though (773 lbs dry) which makes a big difference on the interstate. When I was on the M I would get pushed around by the wind from the 18 wheelers - not so on the Nomad.

The negatives....I thought 1552 CC's vs 805 would make a huge difference. Not so, the M50 seems to have better acceleration. Also, not having air move around me can make the bike seem pretty hot (probably good in the wintertime though). In addition, the Nomad sips only high octane. Lastly, my full coverage insurance went up from $230 / year to $416 / year...OUCH. If you folks don't mind, I will still hang around this forum. There are a bunch of great people with some really good info here.
