I am the 2nd person to have driveline issues.
Someone else has also broken a gear or something.
Womper maybe?
EVERY bike over 27k mile is broken.2 with drivelien issues, and 2 or 3 with cam chain issues.
Now I see 1 bike in the 30k range that has not broken via poll.
Hey my good brother,DO NOT RIDE FAR FROM HOME!
$167.00 tow bill for me to get home.

i picked 30-35k miles... but i'm at 36k miles now.
i choose repairs, but nothing on the bike failed due to normal use.
i had to re-do the front forks (it's not a klr650) hah.

i will be re-doing the top end of the motor, and getting everything checked out.
i have to get the forks re-done again.

for people who are worried about your bike detonating... don't. it won't. you have to abuse it real hard for it to do that.

You are a testament to the durability of the M50. 13000+ miles to the Arctic Circle and back with a crash and the M still brought you home.........tough bike.

I've got an '05 with about 33k miles. No problems. As far as expensive towing, I've got Progressive insurance with a very cheap road side assistance rider.

heh.
i forgot to say i had to change out the radiator.. rock puncture due to said crash.

so far, that's all i've fixed on the bike, other than regular maintenance.

for the price of the bike, it's almost a disposable cruiser...

08 M50 bought last Sept. new just shy of 23000 mi. no problems. regular maint. 1 rear tire and soon a front tire. change oil every 3k-3500 mi. never had valve clearance checked, only changed plugs once at 12500 mi. and they almost looked new. do not ride hard but cruise the interstate back and forth to work at 65-70 mph about 1 hr commute each way

My second M50. First one with 5100 miles and still going strong with a brother up in Ohio.
He has well over 8500 on that bike.

My new one has 1400 on it.
