Wasn't completely my idea, there is another member here that used some vinyl to cover his. Since I had done the grips and levers in leather, I just thought I would make them match.

sure is a lot easier than painting them. I have a roll of black vinyl I might try cutting some out and seeing what it looks like. I think I might just use some hot glue or fabric glue and glue some velcro strips on it, that way they can be removed and adjusted easily.

I like the blacked out signals! Almost makes me want to put them back on! You have any other pics of the signals from a different angle?

I painted my forks but its starting to chip. I might try to do the vinyl/leather with some velcro myself. Would make removal for cleaning really easy, plus I dont think im talented enough to sew them up on the forks lol.

We worked with leather back when they offered shop in HS. Just need a leather punch for the holes, then lace them up with an X pattern.

You still have to attach the velcro to the leather/vinyl. Not sure how you would do that with something that will hold and still look good.

If you can lace shoes you can lace these up. Also with the leather damp, you can lace them facing you and then turn them. When they dry they will tighten down and stay.

The vinyl I used has a really soft backing, so it won't leave rub marks or discoulour the forks like I would assume leather might. Also the velcro strips I used are peel and stick, so they have self adhesive already on them. Initially I stuck them on and started to stitch them too, but I ran into issues with the sewing machine, and I discovered that the velcro strips stuck to the vinyl really well without it. So no stitching necessary, just measure, cut with scissors, and stick on the velcro. The best part is if I want to install my windshield, they are really easy to remove and put back on.
