Default Sudden backfiring...

I'm not really sure where this backfiring came from all of the sudden. I've had the pipes on for a couple years and no backfiring at all. Then about a month ago I took it on a little cruise up the canyon and ever since it has done a little backfiring when I throttle down. Nothing too loud or anything, but I can't figure it out. I've been through three or four tanks of gas since then and it still does it. Any suggestions? Everything else on the bike is stock and I haven't tweaked anything. It started a few days after my canyon trip and really only does it when the bike warms up a bit. For example, when I ride down the road on my way to work it doesn't happen until I get off the freeway about fifteen minutes into my ride. It doesn't do it on the two miles on the way to the freeway, but eight miles of freeway later, I'm getting backfires. Again, just a POP now and then and nothing too loud, but definitely different than before.
