I know everyone indicates you do to maximize the potential, but after searching I haven't been able to find a post that asks the questions I have...
can you run with aftermarket pipes without fuel enhancement long term? What are the issues that have come up for people running pipes only? I ask this because with my 5.0 and my current S197 mustangs we only had to 'remap' ,if you will, when affecting induction with the use of heads or intakes/inlets. Of all my modifications I had never run into issues with exhaust modifications with either the old school speed density FI or the more current MAF style FI. I imagine the current M50 uses speed density type setup....why then exactly would a pipe change affect what occurs in the combustion chamber? If A/F remains conistant I'm confused as to why when the piston is heading south and the exhaust valve is open how can the combustion in the chamber be affected enough to require 'remaping" the fuel curve?
