Yeah, I'm not liking the price, but I think I've figured something out. I'm pretty convinced that what I really want right now is a V-Strom 650. I saw a used one, again a 2008 with 800 miles at a dealer, they were asking 6200. I looked up nada and kbb and they are like 5200. They said they based the price on the fact that the 2009's have gone up in price and that is why they are pricing it that way. Well, F that, it doesn't work that way in my book. As for an M50, I have a friend I used to work with who has a 05 with very low miles that is looking to sell his (just found this out today) and if I go that way, I'll probably buy his. Thanks for all the feedback! |

I'm 6" and 300# and I find the stock bars are a perfectly comfortable fit for me. My only real complaint after 9000 miles is the the stock seat. That will change next year. My 05 is set up for traveling, saddlebags, hard duffle on the pillion seat, sissybar, engine bars and highway pegs, light bar and spur pegs to replace the oems. I don't think you'll like the 650, yamaha discontinued it for a bigger engine, when I had checked one out it seemed small and a little underpowered on the hills. |

I just purchased my 2008 limited with 375 miles on it for $5,000.00 from a private party. I know it was a great buy but still that's where you want to be. From a dealer I would beat them up more. Bikes are not selling. As for risers and pullback, if you buy one try out our riser spacers before you spend too much, they are a cheap solution and folks all over the world are raving about the benefit. Not to plug for them but I just want to mention that they are a quick easy solution that I personally use. I've owned 2 M50 now with about 6,000 miles of experience on these bikes. What a great bike. You can pipe it, seat it, riser it, dress it or keep it stock and it still looks like a neat muscle cruiser with an attitude. Best, Ken | |
