All elusive "O2 Sensor" on the M50...? - Page 2 - Motorcycle-Journal Forums

I believe the O2 sensor is only on certain bikes, if it is required by the state or country that the bike is being sold in. As an example I believe the bikes in Australia all have O2 sensors.

yup,...my black U.K. 05 has one ,..disconnected for aftermarket pipes......

It's not required. The system can figure out what 'mixture' it should be using based on air intake quantity (measured through various ways, including manifold pressure etc) and coolant temperature using pre-set maps. The O2 sensor makes it more precise for sure, but it is not an absolute requirement by any means.
