Welcome sono06 You'll find a good buch of folks here and the M will treat you right. I've owned two. My first bike ever was a 2007 midnight blue metallic M50 bought new in October of 06 I purchased 6 bikes in between from December of 06 until just a few months ago. I sold all the bikes and went back and purchased this 08 M50 with 375 miles on it. I call it the Bumble Bee. That name given it by my wife and neighbor first time they saw her. Yellow and black. Floats like a butterfly but will sting you like a bee. I'm in the process of making a large run of custom riser spacer blocks that raise up the handlebars 1" and put them back towards you. I need them on my M50 (not badly though) and I know others enjoy them so I am taking over the production of these that Jeff here on the forum used to make. I like the M50. It's an over all good cruiser that wants to show off it can be a bit of a sport bike too. I recently sold my Vulcan Nomad 1600 2007 model with 16,000 miles on it. I purchased new and rode it all over the eastern half of the U.S. My other recent sell was a Harley Nightster 1200. That bike was fun but shook so terribly my stomach would hurt for days after riding. No problem on the M. No shaking at all. I ordered out a new Corbin seat for her today and new chrome levers that should give me some inspiration for new ones I want to design and machine as custom offerings for the M50. My next project is a chin spoiler that replaces the plastic radiator cover and finishes out the front of the bike. Then perhaps a small fairing with sport type windscreen just for looks and to hide the wires, cables, hoses, etc. Enjoy!! Ken |

So I bought her on Sunday and immediately went on a business trip. I just got back today and started going over her. Took off all the reflectors, the sissy bar, saddlebags, mounting bars and license plate frame. I gave her a good wash and wax as well. I have to say that the bike is pretty cherry... I feel like I got a great deal. The ONLY thing that I'm a little disappointed about is all the plastic that is made to look like metal panels or chrome... Anyone just removed all of the fake stuff? If so, post some "naked" pics if you could... Or are there aftermarket parts that are not plastic? Rear fender-ectomy is definately in order! Also, if anyone is interested, there is a great seller from SVRider that has parts for the M50... I'm getting the front Galfer stainless steel braided line kit (can't decide if I'm gonna get the silver or black yet) for $49.99 + $10 shipping to my door in 3 days. Blair Layton SV Racing Parts b.layton@svracingparts.com great guy, super knowledgeable about bikes and good prices. |
