I saw a guy on one of those street legal dirt bikes riding like this this morning. Ive seen guys on sport bikes split lanes at the beach when traffic is backed up,standing still but not in moving traffic til this morning. It was a little scary just to see.

Isn't it legal to lane split in California? I always heard it was legal, because motorcycle cops have to do it to catch up sometimes so they had to make it legal for everyone. Anyway, cars have to check their mirrors and blindspots before changing lanes. And anyone in a car should always yield to a motorcycle, especially in a state where this is legal.

Sure you can get hurt or killed, but guess what buddy, you can get hurt or killed every single time you go out for a ride. Hopefully he wears good gear!! 08M50Rider I hope you had a blast, I havent even watched the video yet. Keep riding how ya feel man. Oh yeah and don't let people like EasyRider get under your skin too much, they just don't have the same taste for fun, excitement and danger as some of us other folks. Which brings me to my next point, if you're going to rep a name like EasyRider, you better change your attitude. Shoot I'd be suprized if you've ever even seen that movie, you sir are a disgrace to the EasyRider name...... Pretty sure Fonda would have to agree, ya damn sissy.
Holy crap dude. Next time you want to tell someone off, use this first.

With regards to the video; I venture to bet that anyone who thinks this video is cool also can't remember Reagan in office.

Riding dangerously on public roads is juvenile and criminal. Personally I honestly could care less if you spread your blood and guts across the highway. I would feel sorry for your family, but hey, it's your life and all.

But I got a major problem if you take someone else with you. Some poor schmuck trying to make a living on his way to work gets into an accident because you feel the need to 'be cool' or to 'be dangerous' or whatever the frack you want to call it.

Sorry, not impressed.

Let's keep the curses of death to a minimum, gents. That type of behavior via this forum (which is a family forum, as we've been reminded again and again) isn't very useful. Frankly, it reflects on your type of disposition more than it does on M50's. Far be it from anyone of you to cast the first stone here. I'm a noob, but I've read all of your talk about your own mildly dangerous bike "fun". If your state was given that law to be able to lane split you know darn well that your all "too angelic" of bike behaviors and morals would only be so tempted to go out there and try it -- and film it! So hush up with your superiority. Out of anyone here who's been humble about what he did, it's M50. He knew he was going to get flamed for his actions and has remained very civil, considering the curses that have been flying his direction. His actions alone are what he initially posted for, not to have every one of you curse his existence as a human being.

Please be careful M50. Ride with diligence and be smart about the lane splitting.

Funny thing happened to me the other day...It's 6 pm and I am riding on an Interstate...coming from a nearby state on my way home. It was a couple hundred mile trip each way....a nice day.

I'm on a straight-away...and there are a few exits coming up. I check my six (behind me) and there are no cars within about a mile of me. I do see some traffic on the exit ramps ahead. Out of nowhere a guy in a Volkswagen passes me & he's easily doing 120 mph. He passed me (I was in center lane) from the right lane and it scared the crap out of me.

I never saw or heard him coming. He passed within 3 feet of me and the wind almost blew me over. I was so tempted to follow him...first to congratulate him for not killing himself or anyone else while slowing to make the exit ramp...and then to hit him for scaring me & risking my life because he felt the need for speed.

I did neither and just continued on my ride home...thankfully. While it would have been satisfying seeing him wince in pain...it isn't worth it. Karma has a way of taking care of these little nuisances.
