Yes! That seat is WAY too much. Its the ugliest point to me.

The one thing that looks kinda neat is, now I cant tell from this angle, but it looks like the speedo may be built into the back end of the headlight cowl.

Maybe this is one of those "better in person" sort of bikes.

Don't like it ..

Just some Cosmetic stuff that didn't need to be done, and never touched the improvements that should have been done.. If it had Rear Disc Brake and a 6speed, I might deal with the poor styling.. I think I'll keep the one I have

Well, Suzuki had to do something: the M50 has the slowest sales of any of the Suzuki cruisers, a product of its unique styling. Those that like it really like it, but most cruiser buyers are turned off by the rear fender and the lack of chrome. The headlight is a blatant attempt to cash in on the sales success of the M109 by getting a family resemblance, and probably saves a few bucks also, using parts from another model. I disagree on the need for a rear disk- the drum will lock up the rear wheel with no problems, so the extra braking power of the rear disk would be a luxury, not a necessity. It is more important to keep the costs down than to add features- if the MSRP breaks $8,000 they might as well not build it at all, as it will be unable to compete with the Vulcan 900 Custom ($7,600), V-Star 950 ($7,899), and Shadow 750 Spirit ($7,699).

Wow, they took the best looking bike in their line and made it look worse than the M90 and 109 - that's an amazing failure

It will look like a toy M109 or M90, I agree with others who say real improvements i.e. rear disk brake, 6th gear would be much more welcome. Have to wonder if Suzuki used any owner feedback on these changes, or if they did this on thier own. I know I would not buy that bike.

All that's gone now.

Frankly, this looks like the Kaw 900 Custom with a goofy headlight.

I hate it. I really hate it.
agreed. it looks crappy. im disapointed

They should of made the M90 look more like the 50. I was really dissapointed when the M90's came out. I highly doubt the new 50's will be breaking any sales records. It will probably be worse.

Soliciting feedback from the current owners of a bike with low sales would be exceptionally counter-productive: those people obviously like the bike, and already bought one, so there is nothing to be gained. Suzuki did marketing studies, soliciting feedback from people who bought something else or were strongly considering something other then the M50 to find out what it was about the M50 that made them not buy it. I filled out one of these surveys myself a couple year ago. They also got feedback from dealers, to find out why they did not sell very many of them. The styling was apparently tops on the list, so they changed it to be more like the C50, M90, and M109, all of which outsell the M50 by a considerable margin. The riding position was another area of critisism, which is why they pulled the bars back some. Suzuki has been talking about killing off the S50 for several years, so they really need to have an 800cc bike that appeals to people who do not want the fat look of the C50. They need to have a bike in the $7800 range that takes sales away from the Vulcan 900 Custom and the V-star 950 while still making them a profit.

I really do have to chuckle a little at comments that they should have added a 6-speed tranny. Even if you forget that the M50 is in a very price-sensitive segment of the market, if Suzuki doesn't put a 6-speed in the $15,000 C109, they sure aren't going to put one in a cruiser that costs half that and make there top of the line bikes look bad.

I don't particularly like it, but applaud Suzuki for caring enough to redesign the M50, rather than just giving up on it, like they did the S83, the Marauder, the Madura, and other cruiser models that have come and gone.

I can't help but notice you have a Vulcan avatar. It's no coincidince you like the new M, since it now looks more like the 900 Custom

Which I admit is a nice looking bike. But I liked the M.

You know how when something is pressed out of a mold, after a while the mold wears down and the parts aren't as good, then they have to make a new mold. This seems to be the problem Suzuki is having. They started with the M109 mold, after making lots of those, it wore out. They kept using it and just called what came out the M90. Now that the M90 mold is wearing out, they are going to call the next one the M50. They need to make a whole new mold and get away from the repetitive shapes they are using.

I visited my favorite kawasaki shop today. Sat on a 650 something. I might need to go back to Kaw in the future if Suzuki is going to make all their bikes look the same.
That M50 2010 model sucks. Sorry, had to say it. So there, I said it.

I guess I need to buy a couple more M50's before they are all gone so I can ride this model until I'm 90.

Boo Hoo, I'm really crying right now you just can't see me.
Don't look please don't it's embarassing and not manly at all for me to do this, I know.
Better go hug Bumble Bee (yellow and black attach 2008 M50 special addition) it's crying too.

I'll keep mine too! I like the chrome headlight look - get to watch the clouds without looking up LOL The pillion seat does look to be a bit more padded for the passenger though from previous models. I am probably going to fit the C50 pillion on mine once I acquire one. That is the major complaint my passengers have about the bike - uncomfortable to sit on after more than a few miles.

I like the looks alot better than the previous models. Love the solid rims better than the spoked rims on the C-50. Wonder if they'd work on a C-50?

When I bought my '07 M, I was choosing between it and a Honda Shadow Spirit. The M won out for style points (to me). If it was the same choice but with the '10 version the Honda would win now.

You can't blame Suzuki for changing it. They can't leave the bike looking the same forever. It may work for Harley Davidson, but, I don't think it would work for the Suzuki. It only makes sense (to me) that it would look like it's bigger brother. It is a price sensitive model that is there for people who want the M109 but can't/won't pay that much money. They want something that looks like their dream bike. It is the same reason a lot of people will buy a GSXR600 and take all the stickers off of it. All Suzuki is trying to do is to tie the bike in with it's very popular and successful bigger brothers.

They screwed up this bike and also the sv650 when they replaced it with the gladius.
