Notice they don't show the full rear view...which would expose how the did NOT clean up the license plate.

And what's up with that passenger seat? It does not flow at all. The optional rear cowl or whatever they call it will be a big seller.

After two and a half months... I still don't like it. I think they ruined it by changing the fender and adding that ugly headlight.

I liked it when I was shopping for my bike, so much so that I considered waiting until it came out to buy one. Now that I've had my 50 for a few months, I hate the new one. It's just not an M50, IMO. The fender, headlight and wheels are all wrong. In fact, the new headlight has caused me to change my mind about wanting to put a cowl on mine. Ugly.

My 1/5 of a dime;

At first glance, I do not like the direction Suzuki has taken.

M109 clone headlight cowl; IMO the m109 is fat and ugly, to remake the M50 into a f&u cruiser is wrong, wrong, and wrong. purchase of my M was BECAUSE of the distinctive styling, and it's lean look.

throwing another rear fender on it detracts from the afore-mentioned unique styling. if i wanted a C50, i'da bot one. there's enough harley/retro/clone bikes on the market.

chrome engine cases....black is more.....more.....what word am i searching my brainpan for?.....more sinister?.....no that's not it. black is more?......more....'sexy' is what my ex-GF called it. black wheels combined with black engine completed the M50's "look".

rims appear to be dull/machined aluminum.....all i can say is; that is better than polished...will not spend much time keeping them 'clean'.

i will reserve judgement until i can see one in person, after all....i hated the Ford F150 when they re-designed it 5 or so yrs ago, but ended up buying a 2005....i am adopting a wait and see attitude.

cost-conscious;

a six-speed would not hurt Suzuki's bottom line all that much. the M50 powertrain shares much with the other 50's, it could be spread over several model lines with final gearing(shaft gearing) providing different riding experiences.

a friend has a '96 Intruder 800, looking at them side by side.....their engine castings are quite similar, i would assume that suzuki has made their R&D investment back on this powertrain.

Honda is bringing out a blacked-out version of the shadow 750, called the Phantom i think. FI, liquid cool, shaft drive at a price point not too different than M50. If M50 is not selling, why would honda be jumping on the band-wagon with an M50 clone?

/my two cents

cranky

i'm liking the 2010 shadow phantom

not fond of the speedo placement, bars/mirrors and spoked wheels.
2010 Honda Shadow Phantom First Look - Honda Cruiser First Look - Motorcycle USA

overall, i think i'd stick with the M50 and change the headlight

I don't like that rear fender on the new M50 OR the new (or old) Shadow Spirit and I don't like spoke wheels. Spokes mean tubes and I hate tubes.

All that's gone now.

Frankly, this looks like the Kaw 900 Custom with a goofy headlight.

I hate it. I really hate it.
<stands><claps>

You've pulled my thoughts out of my head exactly. Everything that made the M the bike I wanted and love so much is gone. Looks like I'm keeping mine. Forever.
