I am in the market for new cables for my M50...I need to get the bars I just bought to work. However, I don't know a thing about cables--I'm that guy. I've seen a few sporadic threads around talking about new handlebars, C50 handlebars, etc--each mentioning a little here and a little there about cables. But for a guy that doesn't know anything about them, I need a little more of a primer... Does the M50 have model specific cabling, ie do I need to get cables specially made to have the right fittings? If not, are the cables we have of a particular kind or standard: "Oh those cables are 5.56 gauge with .308 fitting bolts..." Do I just need the cables or do I get washers and bolts stuff i don't even know about? I've seen banjo bolts...do they go with both clutch and brake lines? I'll deal with how to actually change the lines when I have them in hand...haven't even got that far in the 'research.' For my specific case, I got bars w/about 13" pullback, where ours have 10.5 (thanks mbgraham2000 for the link Stock Handle Bar Dimensions. Saw Dave Alvarado's thread, and will probably go with SteveL's suggestion... Thanks. |
