I used a long crowbar and a 5 lb. hammer---you need a flashlight to look inside there are 3 spot welds holding it in. break those and it comes right out.

Thanks guys,

Banging away it is. Sure seems destructive, but enough of you have done it that it seems to be a proven, save method.

Thanks again,
Oldie

Thanks for the info here guys. Today I took out mickey with a pipe and a BFH. Had a buddy hold the bike up and commenced to beating. The first one took longer to get loose, probably because I wasnt sure how hard to beat on it. Removal can be tricky but we have good retrieval tools at work so it wasnt a biggie. Like the sound which isnt too loud.

I recently purchased a GMan Bully FI Processor and K&N Air Filter. I also drilled out my Air Box per the GMan pattern. I am running debaffled pipes on my M50, and was all set to demickey, and decyclopse them, but because of several comments, here and over at volusiariders.com, about loosing top end torque, as well as the sound not being very pleasing, even with the full length fibrosleeves, I have decided not to gutt my pipes at this time. I rather like the sound that they produce with just the baffles removed. It is plenty loud enough, and with the fibrosleeves it has a nice deep rumble, and we can all thank Diamond Jim over at motorcycle-journal for that.

The real reason that I was considering it was so that I could use the Stage 3 settings on my new GMan Bully FI Processor to get the most horsepower out of the bike when using the Bully, K&N Air Filter and Open Airbox. I discussed my setup with Gary over at GMan Industries, and he assured me that since these pips were not engineered as straight pipes, I would not get the added power increase with the Stage 3 settings of a good set of engineered aftermarket pipes. He recommended I use Stage 2 settings and tweak from there. That being the case, I will just leave them as is for now, and tweak from the Stage 2 Bully settings.

Bully Stage 2 Settings for:
Open Air Box
K&N Air Filter
Stock Exhaust

Stage 3 settings for:

Open Air Box
K&N Air Filter
True Performance aftermarket Exhaust

I will post results in separate thread on Bully performance.
