Pics as promised. I still have to paint and wrap them. More pics will follow for the final product.

Come to find out 2" is too big to have them cross like the Violators but I'm not worried about it. The Violators were the inspiration and this is what I came up with. I love that these pipes get rid of so much of the clutter on the back end

Go for it... all I did was bring 3 2" mandrel J-bends I ordered from summit to my bike shop and he cut/tacked em together. The sound by the way is not as loud as you would think. Don’t get me wrong it has volume, but no one is flipping me off as I drive by. Btw, I have been getting a ton of comments on the exhaust note, and people have been more surprised when I tell them it’s only an 800cc.

Those came out nice.

When I finish my kz project, im probably going to ditch the violators and make something also.

Anyhow, yours probably have a good sound with the slashes pointing more towards the ground. Going down the road hammering it should sound pretty good.

What about the flanges that connect the pipe to the heads? Did they use new ones or did they cut the stock pipe off and reuse the stock ones?

Are these the exact ones you used? Summit SUM-621005 - Summit® Exhaust Tubing Mandrel Bends - summitracing.com

Ok, sorry for the delay in getting a video posted. I will be getting a new camera in the next few weeks so I’ll post an updated/better video at that time. In the mean time this is the best I can do. For those who care, let me know if there are any requests for the next video ie: close ups of the welds or whatever… BTW, the camera I used for this video cost $500 back in 2002.

You have to adjust your mixture. The bike ran like garbage on the way home. I have a PCIII usb and I loaded the Hard Krome Strippers map from the Power Commander database both front and rear cylinders. The bike feels like it’s gained 10 horses (guessing) but with this map there is some black smoke which I think is an indication it’s running a bit rich.

Rocky's bike has a hypercharger which may be why it didn't run well with the new exhaust.

I would think that if you are still using the stock air cleaner assembly the bike should still run fine with the new exhaust, I can;t imagin it being much different than my bike is now which is debaffled and demickeyed.

I may be also fabbing an exhaust similar to his very soon, I'll let you guys know the results and if I needed any fuel tuning (I am running stock air cleaner).

Thanks again Rocky for sharing all of this information with us. very helpful, can't wait to see your completed!

Great job on pipes! Always dig on the true customizing parts people do. After I did my pipes I lost top end Rpm all together. So if you have trouble over 70mph with crazy RPM let me know that I am not alone in this bullsh*t. I can't cruise HWY after I built my 2" pipes. Using the hard krome PCIII map too.

A surprise I ran into that you may not be taking into consideration (I didn’t) is that the stock exhaust pipe is slightly smaller than an inch in diameter. When you open that up to 2 inches it’s like an empty super highway for the exhaust to freely exit the bike.

A couple FYI items of intrest…

I used the stock exhaust flanges to make these pipes.

I’m sure the my aftermarket intake makes a huge difference. I have a hypercharger, which is more of a novelty item in and of itself but it has a k/n filter in it which allows for much higher flow than the stock filter. If you want higher flow but don’t care to change your airbox k/n now makes an aftermarket filter that is made for the M.
