| Today I traded my M50 in for an '09 Hyosung GV650 30th Anniversary Edition. It was actually very difficult to let go of the M50. Thanks all for letting me be part of this forum. Robert |

| That is actually pretty cool looking. Thanks for the pics. How do you like it compared to the M50. Why did you make the decision to trade? Just curious since Hyosung is new in the US.

| Well... I held back that info because I did not think this was the place to do so but since you asked...! To start off...the M50 was a fabulous bike and if I was not married she would still be parked in the garage (the M50 that is). However, I read some reviews on the Hyosung GV650 and was floored with the styling and performance. A carb version is rated at 72hp and the special edition fuel injected version is rated at 80hp. I'm assuming if it's not at the wheel then would guess about 72 at the rear wheel. I've always wanted a combination sportbike and cruiser and let me tell you this is it. I was following the salesman during a testride. He was on his Victory Vegas (nice bike) and decided to pass him up. I first notice how much wind I was fighting and figured out it was because I was doing about 100mph with little effort (M50 showed signs of struggling at 90mph). This bike likes the RPM's...even more than the M50. The governor on this bike is set at 11,000. Handling is simply superb and light on this bike. However...I can see where the Suzuki M50 comes out ahead with fit and finish. The reviews state this bike as being well beyond it's class and out performs the bigger bikes. I believe it. And to be honest...the fact that there are not that many of them sealed the deal. Kudos do the staff at Napalm Motorsports in Austin, TX...a really good bunch of guys. FYI...All I read now are people wanting this bike but are not able to find it. Napalm stated that they might be getting a few more in. Hell...maybe I'll trade in the Burgman 650 for another one. |

| Yes, the peg positions are standard with this bike. However, the pegs can be applied in two different positions allowing the peg to be brought in another two inches or so. Long legged riders would opt for the further position. The bike also comes another separate shift rod to accomodate the change in length.

| Refrigerator Magnet Test Engineer ![]() | I always found Hyosung's interesting. But the longevity reviews haven't been very good. I hope it treats you well.

| Here's something I noticed today while ridin' the freeway. It likes to stay in fourth gear at 65-70mph (sweet spot) and still takes off like at a bat outa hell from that speed (with wifey on the back). I find myself gripping the handlebars much tighter during accelerations at those speeds in fear of being blown off the bike ( not leaning forward like on sport bikes). Same characteristics with just myself on the bike. Feel like I need to stiffen the rear suspension since the front wheel seems to want to lift of the ground. It also rides all day around town in second and third gear. I can really feel the sportbike engine characteristics. 2 bikes in one or "having your cake and eat it too". Non-stop compliments everywhere I go (literally). I can't wait for this thing to break in. You guys have to test ride one of these things. Okay...okay...I'll shut...this thing is just too doggone fun. I'm hopin' my wife needs something from the store. Okay...I'm through. |
