Default K&N filter - more intake noise?

Just curious - for those of you who have the K&N filter installed in an otherwise-stock air cleaner housing, did it result in an increase in intake noise?

K&N filter allows more air in-regardless if its in stock housing or open, it lets more air in. More air in generally means more noise to go with it

All the other noises that I hear while riding, I can't tell if there's more intake noise or not. More air in is good, I don't worry about the noise...

I realize that more air = more noise. But intake noise tends to be more clanky and mechanical; I am just trying to gauge how much of a change.

I had an aftermarket air cleaner on my last bike, and it amplified the valvetrain noise to a rather amazing amount. Made my Yamaha sound like a piece of crap.

You can hearing the inner workings of the motor more because of the K&N open air flow design. Mine is noticeably louder than stock. With the stock air box closed design with only the small intake hole on the backside you get NO intake noise all, so I think it seems like a big difference at first. But my pipes are so dang bad-a$$ loud that I don't hear it.

I personally dont know, as I have a hypercharger, but being you have just a K&N filter in stock housing I cant see it being that much louder. If anything you should only hear a little bit more air sucking in next to the intake. Even with the hypercharger the only extra noise I hear is air sucking it at the intake, and thats only right next to it. So you really shouldnt notice any differance

No difference in intake noise that I have noticed. I did notice the bike seemed peppier right off the bottom of the powerband. Its worth having.
