It's either the air filter or FI 2000R for the next mod. Need some help. trying to decide between these two. Is there much if any difference.

KA-9862 - Kuryakyn Corsair Air Cleaner - Type A

31010A - Tornado Air Kit - Type A - Black

If I get one of these should I have the fi 2000r first, or can I run it a while without?

I think I like the look of the Kuryakin corsair, but it seems more people have the tornado. Is it just the price? or is there a performance difference.

Oh I have also heard bad things about the hyperchargers, but really like the looks of it. Are they really that bad in the long run, or will it at all increase performance?

Any help is great. If you have any pointers or suggestions that might help please let me know. If you read some of my previous posts, I am kind of new to anything mechanical. So all the help I can get is needed.

Thanks.

Edit: Is this ( http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=SU-8005 ) a new product from K&N. I was reading some old forums from earlier this year and they said K&N doesn't make a filter for the M50. Anybody have this and does it do pretty well?

I would assume you would probably want the FI controller at the same time or before you change your intake setup. Would it hurt anything in the long run if you ran the new intake without the FI, probably not, maybe just affect the performance some.

I can't speak on the hypercharger. I have heard of some people having issues with Kury products holding up in the elements....if you ride all the time and/or in bad weather, I think the wear on the Kury products catches up to it quicker, especially on their chrome plating.

That is a direct replacement K&N filter you linked to, they came out with it a few months ago. I don't have that one, I did some modification to fit a universal K&N before they came out with that. I like the K&N, I didn't notice any performance gains per se from it, but I like their products and have been using them in my vehicles for several years now, so what the heck...

As already stated you will need to do both at once. Change the airflow that much without changing the fuel processer will lead to your bike running like

I was also thinking about getting the hypercharger as well, but I opted for a small round air filter. I just didn't want to have to worry about any moving parts. You'll need to lube the trapdoors from time to time so that they don't stick on you.

As far as the Tornado or Corsair go with which one looks better to you, not anyone else. Performance is the same.

Thanks for the input. I really do like the look of the corsair, but I'm not sure I am ready to spend that much quite yet. I am thinking I will just get the K&N for now, see how I like it, then get the FI2000R. Maybe after that I will get the tornado or something.

I still could be swayed if someone else had some more valuable info. Not that you guys haven't given good input. You know what I mean. what to do, what to do!

If you want a nice little bump in the rideability of the bike, buy a PCIII first. Remapping with stock airbox and pipes is a nice little bump, then another little bump when you add the pipes and/or airbox.
