| Does anyone on here know if these floorboards would fit the mount on the marauder? eBay Motors: Universal Mini Floorboards 4 Harley Softail Sportster (item 360089783242 end time Sep-24-08 10:15:02 PDT) These look just like the universal floorboards listed on J&P cycles for metric bikes.

| I have just fitted these to the front and pillian of my M50 last weekend, but with some modifications. To do the front I took off the rubber treads, then on the existing alloy foot peg I cut off the vertical bit at the end so the board can sit flat. I then drilled carefully holes through the board and through the existing mount and used the bolt supplied with board. I also drilled from underneath through the first existing foot peg hole (closest to the frame) and through the new board and bolted with a new bolt from the hareware. ( When you do this, put some masking tape or similar over the chrome where the drill will come through. This should stop the chrome from coming off. ) You will then need to adjust both your brake pedal and gear shift so they work effectively and safely. Now the rear are easier. To do them, Take off the existing pillian foot pegs, put the right hand on the left side, the left hand on the right side, but on both, rotate them through 180 degrees so the wire section points down. Believe it or not, this works. To do the right on the exhaust side, you need to carefully drill new holes in the side mounts of the board that match the existing foot peg mount, so that when you put the bolt through and tighten everything, the back of the mount is hard up against the existing bracket and cant drop forward. When you have the new assembly in your hand you will notice the side play. Some stainless steel washers will take up the play. Done carefully, the new board will sit just above the existing exhaust. The left is done the same except you dont have to worry about the exhaust. It takes a bit of time, but i'm really happy with the way it turned out. Geoff |
