Default A Few Questions

1. I have seen countless side mount license plates, but where do you put your inspection sticker? I don't see a good spot without having it on its own plate attached to the license plate. Very Unsightly!

2. Anyone had their M50 stall on them at an intersection? Why would it do that? I had trouble with stalling a few times at the same light. Then, its never happened since. Anyone?

3. GeorgiaRoller....what cutout do you have on your windshield?

Thanks Guys!

I have a possible answer for question 2: It seems that if you have less than a certain amount of fuel in your tank (in my experience, anything less than 7/10 of a gallon) and you brake hard enough, inertia will shift the fuel towards the front of your tank, momentarily leaving the fuel pump (which, IIRC, is at the middle of the tank) with nothing to suck but air. That causes the engine to stall. This is even more likely to happen if you're going downhill.

So if your stall happened while braking and with only one or two bars on your fuel guage, then this might be the cause. My solution is to never ride in stop-and-go traffic with less than a gallon in the tank.

interesting....

I probably had a half tank. I don't remember being a hard stop but it sounds totally plausible. Thanks

I doubt it would happen with half a tank--I've never had it happen with more than about 7/10ths of a gallon in the tank...

Don't know about where you live, but here in PA they put the inspection sticker on the front fork. I've also seen people make a small plate that they attach on the side of the bike. It all depends on your laws

I had the same thing happen to me at a down hill intersection a couple of times till i figure it out my paint leg caught the kick stand just enough to trip the safety stitch and shut down the bike

if your in VA like me I just don't even get the inspection sticker. Most police officers if they don't see the inspection sticker on one side of the bike just assume the sticker is on the other side. They have the plates you can buy and put it on with one of the screws near the front of your bike. I took mine off b/c I just didn't want that unsitely thing on there. Just taking my chances and if they stop me and give me a ticket, just take it up to the courthouse with a reciept of an inspection and they will mostly throw out the ticket. I think those things are a scam anyway! Just a way for garages to make a few extra bucks!!! IMO

I have the Memphis Shades Pop-Top wind screen and the stock headlight that I just painted black. I don't remember & I'm at work right now (shhhhh!) without the bike. Just measure the diameter of your headlight, it will be either 7" or 9".

Memphis Shades - Pop Top

I was think about putting it inside the tool cover. I just got my side mount and frame and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the answers guys. Especially Georgia! I have been hunting you down for awhile now.
