Default Drag bars install help.

I need to install a set of drag bars on my bike I have a set of 32" from Debrix and know that I need risers or risers extensions for clearance inssues, I was wondering if what a good set of risers are?

Thank you

i was asking the same thing. go 1inch above stock for clearance. i still haven't bought them but nothing touches unless you crank the bar to turn right when parking or backing up. other than that you don't need them. go at least 6inch.

Am I correct that I will need to grind off some mounting point on the stock risers?

? i never did. my bars came with the bumpy grip parts where they are supposed to be lined up with stock risers. mine did not match exact but nobody can see that. was about 1/2 inch towards center on each side. one thing you need to do is drill holes on the back side of bar on both sides for a pin that sticks into stock bar. which is located inside the signal and emergency housing. i think it's easier to just drill a hole rather than grind off the nubs in the housing cases. plus you'll get that extra stability. easier to drill if you first make a mark, then use center punch or drill bit and hammer a bit of a dent for bit to keep from "skating" around. hope this makes sense lol.

also might want to wrap electrical tape around the brake line L brackets coming out of the engine kill switch housing. will protect your tank a bit if you do forget and crank a right with bars. i hammered mine upward a bit to get more out of the way. still would like to get some nice chrome 6inch straight risers from Debrix when extra cash is kicking around.

Dude I have 24" drag bars with a 5" pull back and they barley hit my tank. You don't need risers for riding, Just for parking if you want stock turn ratio, but seriously YOU DON"T NEED THEM. BTW I think the 32" look a little dumb on the bike unless you have a ton of pull back, then they are cool. But NO fear cause you could cut them down to a 28", Which most riders would like. If they are FAT bars it might look good though............. Then again If you like saddle bags and a windshield----------our tastes wouldn't be the same so don't fret it. But you want to test your biker skill ride this bike with 24"s and just try to make a u-turn no feet..........

the bike looks fat stock, why would you narrow the look with puny 24's. looks funny imho. m50's a cruiser, not crotch rocket. most cruiser bikes i see have a wide grip bar.

Yeah if you did bars like 1 1/4 maybe on 32"......but 28's you could pull off possibly with 1" thick.

Actually I would stab at 24's on a Chopper, not a sport bike, either way I hate mine and it does look funny.

But I do appreciate you correcting me on the FACT that the M50 is a cruiser not a sport bike.........wow definatly enlightened me.....

haha........don't take it so personal I just felt like %%%%ing with somebody tonight......

haha no worries. lately i've felt like alot of posts around here have been sarcastic. i'm trying to get used to it. sorry i'm offtopic. good luck with the install, was a surprise when there were the nubs and me not having my tools at home. nice bars. practically same as mine but i don't have the indents. one good thing if you have the 32's is you have lots of handlebar space to add goodies like gps, cup holder, ipod or other stuff.
