Hey all,

I've been a lurker for a while now on the forums, I can't resist replying to some of these topics now, so I went and registered.

Here's the short version of my story...

I just bought my first bike (I rode a little in high school 10 years ago), a 2005 M50 black. It's bone stock with exception of the 6 pack rack, delumped the seat, and I just debaffled it last weekend. I got the bike with 11,000 miles on it and have already made a couple of 300+ mile trips on it (1,200 miles on the bike in 30 days).

Hopefully I can help some on here out with technical knowledge, and learn some more while I'm here. I'm an Air Force avionics guy, and have an extensive background with all types of cars, from the V8 carb motors to my last toy, a 1999 Honda Civic Si laying down a hair over 400hp at the wheels. Basically if it can run on fossil fuels, I've probably owned or worked on it...I guess you can call me a recovering power junkie.

Anyways, I've been lurking long enough that I feel like I already know most of you, so I'll proceed to throwing my 2 pennies into some of these threads I've been watching the last couple of days.

Okay, first, welcome. Second, what influenced you into purchasing an M50? I like mine, but its not exactly a powerhouse...

That's why I say "recovering power junkie". I think I've gotten all the speed out of my system for now (I'll give it a year), plus a starter bike any bigger than the M50 probably is not a good idea. Honestly, I looked at just about every bike on the market and think the M50 is the best looking bike out there that is still somewhat practical.

Luckily, I'm scared crapless out of the bike so far and it's keeping me from doing dumb stuff. Since I'm active duty Air Force, I am required to wear so much safety gear I look like a mix between a power ranger and a traffic cop with camoflauge pants.

Thirty plus years out of the Air Force and I've limited myself to a 600 cc sportbike instead of a 1000. Its supposed to keep me from doing really dumb stuff, but I find myself waiting for the power to come on after grabbing a handful of throttle. Some guys never grow up.
I drive a 69 Camaro with a 383 and parts to compliment the Isky 270 megacam. Your Si is probably quicker though. Have fun, take care.

07M50Limited is right, its a stroked 350. Brodix heads, Edelbrock hi-rise, Holley 750 double pumper, MSD, Hooker Super Comp Headers, etc. Sounds great, lousy gas mileage, smokes tires! Fun, fun, fun!

I figured it ran good, we built one for a friends 73 nova...very pricey to build but was a screamer...loved to be shifted at over 7 grand.
