Find a piece of 1/4" plastic tubing-like airline- (or whatever size fits over the bleeder) about 1-2' long. Place a small bucket under bleeder, run tubing from bleeder to bucket. Fill resevoir with fluid, squeeze brake until almost empty and refill-do not run empty. Continue to run fluid through until all the old fluid is out and you see no air bubbles in the fluid in the tubing.

Also autozone or similar should have cheap kits to do the trick

I just wadded up a paper towel and stuck it next to the bleeder valve. I also had a catch pan underneath. I was replacing the brake line and fluid so I had to pump a bunch of fluid through until I was sure I had all new in.

The towels are going to the hazardous waste disposal this weekend.

You will know when you are done because the brake handle will be super tight when you squeeze it.

Same question with coolant.

We have a house hold hazardous waste drop off here in Redondo Beach. I take all that kind of stuff over there to be disposed of. My spent brake fluid, used final drive oil and used motor oil all end up in the came container for disposal.

I have heard that you can just leave antifreeze to evaporate. You just have to keep the neighbors pets out of it (or not). I'll be taking mine to the drop off.

Most places that sell oil (Kragen, etc) will take used motor oil and filters. (at least in California they do).

Default Saying "Hello" to fellow Suzuki Boulevard C50 drivers

I'm new to this forum and must say I find it helpful. "Toughbugger" refers to a name my neighbor gave me because I refuse to give in to a health condition requiring an organ transplant. Never give up. Don't let a disabling illness stop you from enjoying life!
