Default My First Modification

Here is my '05 M50 with her first modification - Cobra Streetrod pipes and the Fi2000. Sounds great, a lot louder than the stock pipes. I also have a K&N air filter installed.

Next up, an integrated blinker/taillight assembly, then a lightbar up front, then lowering, then a thunder mfg air intake, then a corbin seat, then a hellcat windshield, then.....

Looks good! Gotta love how that first mod sets the snowball rolling downhill into the next and the next and the next.....

Default Technically the 2nd mod

I guess the first mod would have been the rack on the rear.

Default Its just too fun

Yeah, I had to restrain myself from just buying everything at once. I'll have some nice winter projects to do this year.

LOL! Looks great! Those are nice pipes.

The mod bug is extremely hard to get rid of once bitten! I put a new seat on mine and now am thinking about forward controls..... I promised myself to get a bike I liked right out of the box! But I think I probably wont do any performance mods cause I don't think there's a whole lot extra inside the engine. But I could be wrong!

Thanks. My mods are all about looks, I'm happy with the performance of the bike. I especially like the round air intake from thunder mfg, as opposed to the teardrop stock.

Forward Controls have been weighing heavy on my mind too.

How about some custom paint? Some blue metal flake flames on the tank and front fender, or whatever your theme is. Then maybe some blue or red LED trim lights around the engine.

I was thinking of some ghost flames on the tank and the fender, subtle like. Makes you take a double look - did I really just see that?

To change to the K&N air filter, did you have to adjust the fuel system?

I installed the Cobra Fi2000, I didn't change any of the settings. The K&N air filter showed up the same day as the Fi2000, so I installed them both together. I ran it like that for about 200 miles before the pipes showed up. No issues.

My boss likes the fact that I have a bike and like to mod/personalize it - I end up working overtime so I don't have to "save up" or put it on the credit card. I'm his subcontractor getting paid by the hour and he has his mark-up that gets passed to the client.
