Between the backrest/rack and the handlebar risers it's a very confortable ride. I had back surgury june 5 08 so the backrest is good therapy.

I use these Willie and Max bags that I got from phatperformance. I like the smaller form of them and they hold a good bit of stuff for me.

Here's what my bike looks like with the Mutazu LN Hardbags.
They're pretty inexpensive and aren't of the highest quality build you'll ever see exactly, but they do the job and I think they look pretty decent on the M. They're pretty small, but works for me. They have other larger sizes available. I've got mine installed with Ghost Brackets, the only way to go IMHO.

You can check them out at MUTAZU Motorcycle Trunks

I've got the Willie & Max Large Deluxe Fleetside Slant (black) bags on my M50, and they look pretty good. I'll hunt down a picture for you and post it.

THose look pretty sweet. My brother said he'll get me a set of bags for my birthday, which is tomorrow (actually in one hour and eight minutes). I told him I want these:

I LOVE my US Saddlebags. Very ridgid so they never collapse. Easy on, Easier off! The also lock on the bike (if you want them to), and have handles for carrying.

I have the River Road Extra Large Slant bags, and I really like them.
They were the largest bags that I could fit with the stock exhaust system, without spending a fortune.

I used the Easy Bracket mounting system to support them, and I am really happy with this system. I put the bottom of the bags one 2"x4" thickness above the top pipe, and set them with the front edge of the bag back as far as the easy bracket would allow.

There is still good access to the passenger pegs, although I did install the Cycle-Istic extenders, and even though the bags extend back just beyond the rear turn signals, the Easy Brackets push the bags out so that they clear them with about an inch to spare. You will see this in the pics.

One other thing I did was to back them up on the back and bottom with an aluminum plate painted flat black. This makes them very stable and solid, almost like hard bags. You will see this in the pics in the link to my thread from last year.

I hope this helps..........

Well I ordered the cortech sport saddles and tail bag. I'll post some pictures when they come in. I finally got tired of wearing a backpack. Got them from new enough for $180 shipped. Didn't think that was too bad.

You'll love them. I have the blue ones for over three years and they not only still look nice but they're in great condition. I even have the tail bag. My only complaint with them in they are on the small side.

I've installed a set of Nelson Rigg CL850 bags. I'm happy with the looks and am impressed with the size.
