Default First Post: Hypercharger Install help

Hey Guys,
First post, but I've been lurking for a bit. Anyway, I am working on getting my hypercharger installed and I have a few questions. First, the ThunderMFG adapter doesn't seem to want to sit straight. It really wants to tilt down in the front. I removed it and had to really push while tightening. Better, but not great. I'm also wondering why there is a gasket between the plate and HC, but none between the adapter and plate. Also, with poor instructions with the adapter and nothing at all with the HC, I'm at a bit of a loss with where exactly to go with the vacuum line. I definitely want it hooked up, but if I need to ride before then do I need to plug anything? Thanks for any help you can give.

Great forum.

OMG Deja Vu....lol.

First off, welcome. Second, if I didn't know better, I'd say this was an old post of mine word for word!

1- I mounted my adapter to the bike with the bolts all the way at the bottom of the adapter. This kept it from moving when I torqued down on it.

2- Wherever there isn't a gasket, I used silicone. They said it wasn't needed, but I felt better using it.

3- The plate between the HC and the adapter can be polished, and shows enough to make it worthwhile to do.

4- The vacuum line goes from the port on the bottom of the HC to the gray/red vacuum line under the tank. When you lift the tank, on the left of the inlet duct, you'll see something clipped there. The vacuum line is attached to it. Install a tee, and run the line to the HC.

Right on, thats what I needed to know. Glad it wasn't just me. Anyone else less than impressed with Thunder? Put me off for 2 weeks with little information, threaded holes were so bad I had to retap, wrong hardware provided... I guess I shouldn't %%%%% too much since they make the HC possible for the beloved M, I just got a bit frustrated. Does the HC look level with it jammed all the way down? Also wondering about riding in rain. A sport biker buddy said it should be fine, maybe remove filter and dry if I was worried about it. Any thoughts?

Hey... just wondering. If you install a hypercharger, do you need a fuel processor also?

you for sure need a fuel processor because you are changing how much air is going into the bike and the processor can be adjusted for these changes.

Not level, but it seems to keep the angle of the original air cleaner.
