Default Garage door opener

I wired in a garage door opener this weekend. I opened the control housing that has the flash-to-pass switch in it and de-soldered the wires connected to it. I then connected a pair of wires to the contacts and ran them to the keyed side cover. I put bullet conns on the outside of the cover and then ran the leads thru the back of the toolbox. That way if I want to remove it for service I can easily. I then soldered the ends to the button contacts of the opener and buttoned it all up.

An option I've always wanted but never seriously looked into.
You don't happen to work for an airline and get cheap seat sales do ya?
I'd be happy to pick you up from the airport to install one on my Vmax.

Sorry, no I don't.

It's actually pretty easy, did it while a buddy was putting LED's on his C50. Couldn't let him have all the mod fun this weekend. There is plenty of space in the housing on the M for the extra wire. I left the original wires in there so I can resolder them up if needed. I sleeved the wire and zip tied it to the others and it looks factory unless you know it's not supposed to be there.

This has caused me:

Chamberlain-Liftmaster makes a 3-button keychain remote. weighs less than an oz. about $30ish.

Nobody around here uses them for that, and I think after looking at the wiring diagram for the bike I will change it.

I will wire the lights back up, and jump the button on the remote. Since the remote is 12v I will hook the power up to it. They will both work atthe same time then.

even if people don't know what the heck i'm doing with the pass light, at least they check their rear-view and see me... i just got in the habit of doing it.
i try to do it all the time for the big trucks...

I just zip-tied mine to my bar and placed it flush on the control housing. Works fine for how I need it

Guess I'm just paranoid about someone horking it and emptying my garage while I am away.

Will still try to get some pics for those that are interested.
