| Just wondering when your clutch catches? Mine seems to be late but im not sure. It starts catching about half way out then fully engaged at the end. I have adjusted the clutch before but just for the play at the end of the lever ( following the instruction manual ). Is there a way to adjust it to grab earlier? Thanks in advance

| Yes, you need to adjust it by taking off the side cover. Sounds like it is catching too far out, and you should adjust it. It is very simple to do, it actually takes more time to take the covers off and put them on. There was a post last week on this topic with steps outlined. Here is the link: http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...50-clutch.html

| Thanks for the link 05HDRAM. I was thinking, had DJ put a link in M50 links and tutorials? Yep, there it was. Thanks DJ. Lots of great stuff there. VtWoodChuck |

| Adjusted the clutch like described already. For anyone having this problem the only way that i have found to make it catch earlier is to adjust the cable at the tranny to give you more play, slack at the lever when released the whole way. The more slack the sooner it will catch. I have like about an inch of play to get the clutch to ingage when released about an inch out at the lever.

| My clutch was grabbing late, so I pulled the cover and made the adjustments as posted. It made a huge difference, and I did not have any problems. I would advise being careful with too much slack or having it too tight so you do not cause excessive wear.
