Default Seat cover

One thing about bike seats- they are black. And if left in the sun for a while, black=burning hot.

Are there any white/cream seat covers out there?

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! That has funny as !!!

On a serious side, Oaksong, I know there are a lot of posts on here dealing with doing a mod on your seat. DJ has a post on here about redoing his enter dang bike and mentions in there about getting his seat redone. Not sure if you can purchase a "different colored" seat, but changing it yourself shouldn't be hard.

Here's a funny story along these lines. As a temporary measure I made a seat cover out of OD green canvas. It came out beautiful. I was quite pleased with my work. After three days in the sun it was no longer OD green. It was tan.

you might wanna try an umbrella or parasol for your bike. It will help keep your butt from burning. I think that regardless the color, if it out in the sun, it will be hot.

I agree with Moto, leather is leather and in the sun it gets hot no matter the color.

If your looking for a completely different seat, sides of garment leather don't cost THAT much. You can find just about any color and style on ebay... or you can go to a fabric/craft store and get pleather (thats all the seat cover is now, if you pull it off, you'll notice a white backing) also in any color, or for that matter fake fur. Grab a staple gun and have at it. Won't have those nice stitched edges, but it will be cheap and if you take you time, can look pretty nice. Get outdoor UV shielded stuff if you can.

Put on a sheepskin saddle cover. The ones available from Alaska Leather are pretty nice and they are available in several colors.

A friend of mine at work has one of the Alaska Leather seat covers and he really likes it. He says it keeps him cooler in the hot weather because it breaths.
