Great idea Jeff! I think i'll do the same. BTW.... the lightbar is frickin awesome! I only have my one lamp working because i have a defective bulb in the other. I'll tell you what though... that one lamp makes a huge difference. I can't wait to get the other installed. I'll post pics once it's all done.

Looks great. I think those turn signals look really good on there.

Just wanted to post an FYI. I have the black optilux lights. They are metal but painted. Any ways I had problems with them flickering and sometimes they go dim.

I figured it was because I cut the ground per the instructions posted by Jeff. I think because mine are the painted black version I was not getting a good ground. I have since put back my ground wire and now everything is working fine. They are bright

Just wanted to post incase someone else bought the black versions of the optilux.

That's a great point, didn't think about the paint, blocking the ground!
Did you use the lock washers, I sent?, Im surprised , they didn't get enough bite in the paint to get a good ground.

Ok, I see now, not only the base, but the brackets are painted also, where, mine are chrome, and gets grounded. I did use the rubber washers, but the bolts are grounding mine.
Thanks Zinje...I know some others bought the black ones....and should NOT remove the Blue ground wire as I did. That will only work with the chrome sets.

I'm Back, just got back from vacation yesterday. the light bar and turns where there waiting for me. the lights however are not here yet. the chrome ones were on back order and I got a call from the guy last week saying the chrome ones were no longer being produced. he has sent the black ones, should get them later this week. I'll probably wait till the weekend to install it, I have to chase down some ATV parts this week. we broke both of them. LOL.
BTW zinje, I ordered 4 of those lights so i could do the rears, might as well get it all the same

Zinje , had a good tip, dont cut the ground wire with the black ones, run them to the frame and ground them, other then that, the install will be the same

Default Light bar

If anyone else would like to keep the machined look of Jeff's parts, I used Eastwoods diamond clear coat for bare metals. I've been using it for a while and have had good results

A little slow outta the gate this time around, But i finally got it done.
The auto switch works great and I mounted the indicator LED on the plastic chrome piece above the speedo. all electrical is in the headlight, It's a little tight in there now.
I grounded the wire from the lights to the mounting bracket at the light bar, seems to work fine.
Thanks again Jeff.

Yes it is a gear indicator, GIpro - Gear Indicator with Advanced TRE for Suzuki and Kawasaki motorcycles
It also has ATRE, advance timing retard eliminator. you can turn it off or on. it works, theres more power in the gears and it's louder too.

Yea...I had mine a little high also, We were coming back at night from a 360 mile ride(3 of us at the time)...I was in the rear...clicked them on...and lit up the road for all of us, when we stopped for gas, I ask them, if it helped, and they said it was so bright, they couldn't look in there mirror's...so tweaked them down a bit...one thing for sure, those Hella lights are a great bargain....I Have also added the PIAA blue bulbs, to mine, but notice, they get alot hotter, with those bulbs.

1 of the light bars are sold, I have 2 left now!!!!
