Default Irritating gas spill

So for some reason I didn't notice but after I filled up a couple of days ago, I saw that some gas had spilled onto the tank and it sat in the hot sun which also gathered some dust. I tried to clean it briefly here at work this morning with some dawn soap and water. It didn't come off at all, it looks like it stained the tank. Do any of you have a way of cleaning that without it scratching too much?

Is it just a mar on the wax? Try a polish and re-wax.

And be careful with the polish....don't over do it and go completely through the paint.

I know this will sound crazy, but gas caused it, and already ate the wax off.... take some gas on a rag, and rub in a small circle around the stain, it will come off, wash it it with soap and water, then re-wax it, I use a body scrub, sometimes, and it might work, with out the gas.
