howdy folks,

i am doing an experiment. OEM tires, the IRC's have given me 6,000 miles, i could probably get 8,000 if i wanted to be "adventerous" and run until bald.

i am going to try the Bridgestone Spitfire S11's.

if they give me 6,000 miles i will be happy. $80 rear, $60 front. (with my ama discount from bikebandit)

rear tires have a DEEP tread, and a nice solid wear spot/rubber in the middle of the tire.

my Brother had/has these tires on his bike and they are acceptable to me for cornering and straight line performance.

if they are bad tires, i will surely let you guys know.

i have no idea why everyone is against Bridgestone tires/tyres.

my sport-tourer has 4,000 miles on bridgestone BT-45's on it, and it will probably get 5-6,000 rear and 7-8,000 miles front.

we will let you know how the tires play out.

peace, crank

You must ride harder than me...I got 12,000mi on the rear IRC and 17,000mi on the front IRC. At 6,000mi, I would be going through at least 2 sets a year....I'll stick with paying a little bit more up front and having them last longer than 5 months.

I went with a set of $100 Bridgestones. Don't try this. Freaking rear end slides out all the time, slides bad on a fast stop....and is really bad in the rain.

Although, for a $100...I'll suffer through the rest of this year, but next year I will purchase a much better set of tires.

I replaced my stock rear with a Kenda Kruz673 also. So far I have about 5000 miles on them and they still have lots of tread. I feel they could handle another 5000 with ease.

I have no complaints what so ever with this tire. I believe I paid about $100 for the tire at a local dealer. That price included instalation.

They seem to have a very long tread life and I feel they are better than the stock IRC. My stock tire was worn out at 4500 miles.

I'll soon be replacing my front tire and will choose the Kenda again.
