Default it's so true the stock seat has got to go

it is so true I just got back from my first long ride 120 miles each way . after about 35 miles my rear end was numb after 50 I needed to get off and let the feeling to come back in to my legs. on the way back it looked like rain so i ran about 100 miles with out stopping my leg went numb. so here is the question my wife has only been on the bike once she hates the stock seat.
I don't think she will ride much but I do want it to be comfortable for her to.
so for the guys that got replacement seat what did you get and how do you like it on the long Ride. thanks

I have the Mustang Daytripper, great seat very, comfortable. Just did a 3 day ride with it and didn't feel a thing . Not so good for the wife, its o.k. for a short ride, but after 15-20 min she will be feeling it. Its very reasonably priced and looks amazing on the bike. My brother in law has the Mustang wide touring and its even more comfortable and its great for 2up riding, his wife loves the pillion. I just don't think it suits the bike, personal opinion.

I bought the Mustang seat from Oneida Suzuki for $414.68 which included the shipping to me. I got the plain and not the studded. The link is MUSTANG 2 PIECE SEATS M50 2005-08 BOULEVARD :: Seats :: Boulevard M50 :: Cruisers :: Oneida Suzuki Inc
I ordered it on the 10th, and put it on the bike yesterday when it came.
I rode it 135 miles today and it was head and shoulders above the stock unit. My only complaints is that it pushes you ahead about 2 inches and I am tall, so I will be looking for forward controls to stretch my legs out, and it put my arms in a new position which seemed to fatigue them sooner.
Butt felt great though as it cradled it and made it a lot easier to go over the speed bumps here on the Pennsylvania highways. Some of those 65 mph. bumps on the stock seat almost threw me off.

My fiancee is having the same issues. We are looking for a wider seat for her. I came accross a seat extender that adds 6" of width to both sides, it's call Saddlemen Comfy Saddle. haven't pulled the trigger as of yet.

I too am tall (6'6), my butt rests on the "hold down" strap. I think it will be difficult to find a seat to make us both happy.

Most people here (for 2-up riding) have either the Mustang Touring seat, the Saddleman Explorer, or the Corbin Dual Tour. Those will be your best 3 choices for aftermarket seats if you are looking for comfortable 2-up riding. Corbin will be your most expensive. I think Mustang and Saddleman are pretty close in price. Your best bet is to do a search, there are many threads about each seat. Really, in the end (no pun intended) it is personal choice. But from reading the posts all three are a better choice than the stock seat.

I have the Saddlemen Explorer (317.00) off Ebay including shipping. Very nice! Wife doesn't mind the extra width on her back seat either. I found that it sits me up about an inch higher and about an inch closer to the tank. It made my windshield work better in my opinion.

I found the Explorer put me about an inch lower and closer. much better then the stock seat and for me at 5' 9" I found the new riding position much better. my butt is very happy. can't say much about the pass seat, nobody has been on it for long, but do find it better.

I've had the mustang touring for awhile now. I love it. the only complaint I have is that it rose me up an inch or two, now I'm on my tiptoes when I stop. (I'm 5'6'') Guess I'll need to get the lowering kit. It is really great for 2-up though, and I can ride forever with no problem. (except the occasional stop for a restroom break and a cig: I know, nasty habit)
