The best carb cleaners are Gumout and Berryman's B12, if you are actually having a problem. Lots of people swear by Seafoam but it is not a heavy duty cleaner. As for cleaning pistons, snake oil is pretty good for that. Don't worry about how dirty the pistons are. They will take care of themselves.

| Thanks! I just bought this bike. Figure i take care of it before it breaks down. I was just wondering if these fuel additive will help the life and performance of the bike. So far, nothing is wrong with it. I hope this will last |

| I've used Seafoam in my old 1980 Chevy Silverado a couple of times and once in both the Marauder 800 and GZ250 after we bought them. I never noticed a difference in performance. Better steps for preventative maintenance would be to keep up with oil/filter changes, tire pressure, air filter, valve adjustments, chain cleaning/lube, etc., which are outlined in your owner's manual. I heard that running E10 (don't use E85, the bike isn't meant to run on it) will help clean out your fuel system. I generally don't use E10, but it seems like it might be ok to run it once in a while for that purpose. It can't do too much damage because E10 is all they offer in some states. FWIW, the National Corn Growers association has some propaganda that supports the idea that E10 helps clean the fuel system: NCGA.
