Default Speedo Accuracy

NOT!

Good until about 40mph, then down hill from there (according to GPS speedometer) I wonder how many miles I actually drive with the speedo outta whack. WTF is a "whack" anyways??

Any fix for this? Maybe that's why everyone whizz past me like I'm standing still on the freeway!

Yep you are not imagining it. The speed of my c50 radars consistantly 10 or 11 percent slower than the speed indicated by the bikes speedo. However, it's been reported that the odometer is accurate and that has been my experience also.

All of the cars I have driven seem to over estimate speed as well but generally by five percent or less so it's no surprise that in speed restricted zones many cars seem to be speeding by.

I have a theory that as the speed rises the speedo may become more accurate.... 170kph / 105mph sure as heck FEELS like 170kph / 105mph but i havent found a friendly radar operator to test it. The bike performs nicely under 130kmh which I think is a realistic top comfortable pace for the model.

The word 'whack' is a funny word and I am not funny enough right now.

We did the speedometer accuracy a few weeks ago in another thread.
You can fix it I guess with a add on called Speed Healer. You can read more about it on their website at HealTech Electronics Ltd. - Makers of the GIpro/ATRE and SpeedoHealer

Not to be an a$$, but when I seen the title to this thread.........I thought it was gonna be about the Olympic swim trials and their suits engineered by NASA.

Woops.

I really only use the speedometer to get an "idea" of how fast I'm going. That's all you really need anyway. If you want accuracy, hire an accountant.

As for your question of the word "Whack". Perhaps this will help, it's from Websters, when used as a noun.

— out of whack
1: out of proper order or shape <threw his knee out of whack>
2: not in accord <feeling out of whack with her contemporaries — S. E. Rubin>

When used a verb.

1 a: to strike with a smart or resounding blow <whack the ball> b: to cut with or as if with a whack (Chop)
2 chiefly British : to get the better of (Defeat)
3 slang : murder, kill.
