Rode to a friends new house Friday, on the way home Saturday stopped to a shop. Sat on a M109, total difference than the 50. For my size I knew the 109 would be a better fit, but wow.

Then drooled over the Big Dogs and Bourgets they had.

Tank trim added....was unsure but for 5 buck I figured what the hell. Used the leftover just to run a trim line around the rad shroud as well, all in all it suits the black exceptionally well. I recomend tank trim to conceal that hideous tank seam.

Installed my Kuryakyn Iso grips and throttle boss. After that I felt industrious and installed my new black Galfer Stainless Steel front brake line and brake fluid.

Love the feel of the new grips and really love the solid brake feel... not mushy like before!

Don't buy a Bourgets. Awesome looks, maintenance nightmare and super uncomfortable. At least my friends was. He got so sick of it he finally sold it. Those types of bikes are meant to be "looked" at, not ridden unfortunately.

Tried to take a ride up to Huntersville (15-20 miles north of Charlotte). Wham! Rain...no rain gear, no rain skills. Turned around, went home. Swapped out fender bib for pillion and Kury mount pad...easier and cleaner to attach my Cargo Endurance tank/tail bag or Grantour bag. Pillion puts the Cargo bag in a better position to give me a little back support.

Starting assembling PIAA 005 Multi-fit lights. Think I stripped locknut and maybe a bolt head - allen wrench keeps slipping so I can't get the bolt and locknut flush with the housing.

Hardware store tomorrow, I suppose.

Received my replacement oem riser and swapped out the one I stripped while installing the riser spacer kit. I notice that the spacer matches the base of the replacement riser much better than on the original, 2007, stock riser. I wonder if Jeff originally took his design off risers of a model after 2007.

Maybe it's the resolution, but many of the pics I've seen of other's installed riser spacers look nearly seamless. Just a thought.

Now I get to ride tomorrow and listen to my debaffle and 6" fibrosleeves.

Thanks Ken, Jeff and Diamond Jim.

i found the same thing with my grantour bag...
a word of advice on the allen wrench... use T handle ones if you can... saves you time and effort

you should be able to screw it in partly with your fingers first, to make sure you aren't crossing the threads...

The second one went together no problem...I think was going slower and paying more attention. On the first one, by the time I realized it was giving me too much resistance, it was too late. Now I know...

Met Chiefriceburner...great guy, got some neck covers and rad shroud. Guys like Mike are just great to deal with, learned some stuff and got some great additions in perfect condition.

Lastly was a trip to the vinyl shop to get some new stripping cut for the M....an addition that I really like.

Did you just velcro your MP3 player to the tank bra?

Yup velcro...quick and easy to secure and remove, and best of all really easy to access when I want to up the volume or change a track while driving. Tip...hook side on the bra...fuzzy side on MP3, and I added a small strip at the top to secure the headphones when I don't need them.

That's not a bad idea actually. Hmmmmmmm. Might be good on long trips. May have to steal that idea from you on mine.

First time out at speed on the highway to see how the debaffle & 6" fibrosleeves sound/work. It was also the first time out with the 1" riser spacers.

The spacers are great for me. The shift in the position of the handlebar is very noticeable while riding and for the better imho. I'll need to play around a little bit in the rotation of the bar to find the position I like best. It may be all psychological, but I feel that I have better control initiating countersteer. Thanks again to Jeff & Ken.

The exhaust is noticeably louder at idle and around town, but it seemed virtually the same as stock at 50mph or higher. It probably won't seem as loud at idle once I'm more accustomed to it.

As has been said by many, I really like the sound of it.

Kudos to Diamond Jim for developing the fibrosleeve. I look forward to tinkering with the variables (length, thickness, materials).

Put on the second seat, sissy bar & pad and moved the shock up from 3 to 5. Gettin' her ready for some longer 2-up riding.

Forgot what PIA it is to adjust that shock. I always forget to loosen the battery housing first.

Please do!! I've gotten the majority of the info on my M from this site, and alot of my ideas as well.
I spent alot of time in the resto/mod auto field so I'm always looking to be a little bit fancy but functional in my mods...but I've been known to borrow when I see something that catches my eye

Thanks for all the kind words guys...means alot when someone appreciates the efforts.
